Theme: The difference between religious rituals and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Scripture: Matthew 7:21-23
Message:
Many people are blindfolded by simply observing religious rituals rather than truly knowing God and accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. In Matthew 7:21-23, Jesus warns, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'”
Religion often emphasizes rituals, traditions, and outward appearances. While these practices can have value, they are not a substitute for a genuine relationship with God. True faith is not about checking off a list of religious duties but about knowing and loving God personally.
God desires a relationship with you, not just your religious observance. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bridge the gap between humanity and Himself. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was the ultimate act of love, offering you forgiveness and a new life. Accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior means inviting Him into your heart and allowing Him to transform your life from the inside out.
Call to Repentance:
Turn away from empty religious rituals and embrace a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Acknowledge your need for a Savior and accept His love and forgiveness.
Sinner’s Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I have been blindfolded by religious rituals. I believe You are the Son of God who died for my sins and rose again. I turn to You and ask for Your forgiveness. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Amen.
Growing as a New Child of God:
- Develop a personal relationship with God: Spend time in prayer and reading the Bible to know Him more deeply.
- Join a community of believers: Connect with a local church where you can grow in faith and fellowship with others.
- Seek guidance from other believers: Learn from those who have a genuine relationship with God and can offer wisdom and support.
- Live out your faith: Reflect Christ’s love in your actions and interactions with others.
May this message open your eyes to the truth that religion alone cannot save you. Embrace a personal relationship with Jesus Christ today and experience the transformative power of His love. Remember, knowing God personally is the key to true salvation and eternal life.
